Sunday School

Sunday School.jpg

Saint Mark's has an active Sunday School, which meets every Sunday at 9.30am during the school term. Fun activities and lessons are held in the Parish Centre while the main morning service is conducted in the church. Teachers bring children over to church towards the end of the service so that they can join their family for communion.

The Sunday School caters for children of primary school age.

On the third Sunday of each month we have a 9.30am All age worship service, where children are encouraged to be involved in actively participating in different aspects of liturgy.

Friendship Group

This group caters for people who may live alone and would like the opportunity to chat with friends and meet new people in a caring and supportive environment. It meets on the second Friday of each month in the Parish Lounge at 10.00am. Everyone is welcome. Please contact the church office to find out more details.

Mainly Music

Mainly Music offers parents and caregivers and their pre-schoolers the opportunity to enjoy music together on a weekday morning. Throughout the session, children develop their gross and fine motor skills, add to their language, mathematical and pre-reading skills, and can let their imaginations run wild! It's also a wonderful opportunity for them to socialise with other children and adults. Mainly Music takes place on Monday mornings at 9.30am during term time. Please contact the office to register your interest. To find out more about Mainly Music, click here.

Chinese Classical Studies

Every Friday evening at St Marks Church we hold a small class exploring Chinese culture. We study Classical Chinese literature, ranging from famous poets, the annals of history, to the words and essays from the kings and philosophers of old. Through this, we aim to achieve a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and heritage in the modern context.

Dear Parishioners and Friends of St Marks

As we continue to do all we can as a nation to thwart the progress of the COVID-19 virus, churches and all other places of public gathering remain closed. The Church, as the gathered people of God, cannot meet person-to-person, but we are fortunate to have more means than any generation before us to stay in contact with one another. This website is one of the ways that the Parish of St Mark’s, Remuera remains a gathered people. We also remain in communion with one another by email, video conferencing and – not least, the telephone. And, vitally, we remain in communion with God through prayer. We are here for you. Get in contact with us via the means that suits you best (please see the contact list).
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his
countenance upon you, and give you peace.
