Vicar - The Reverend Anne Mills
Dip.Tchg; B.Ed.; B.Theol.; M.Theol. (Hons)

Anne was born in Papua New Guinea where her father was involved in education. When she was 10 her family moved to the Bay of Plenty. She graduated with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Waikato in 1988, going on to teach at Hamilton schools and lecture at the University of Waikato. In 1998 she followed her call to ordination and completed a Bachelor of Theology and Masters of Theology through Saint John's Theological College. She was ordained as a Priest in 2002.

Anne was appointed Priest Assistant at Saint Mark's in 2001, moving back to Hamilton in 2004 to take up the position of Priest Assistant at Saint Peter's Cathedral. She was then appointed Co-Vicar of Chartwell Cooperating Parish, where she spent the next 10 years. For eight of those years she held the position of Archdeacon of Waikato.

Anne was inducted Vicar of Saint Mark's Remuera on the 29th January 2015. yyy

Anne is married to Chris, a secondary school teacher, and they have two teenage children. Anne enjoys time spent with family and friends, cooking, walking, swimming, gardening and reading.




Verger - Liam Phillips

Liam has previously worked as fulltime Administrator and Verger of Saint Mark's, he is now studying to become a priest in the Anglican Church. Liam continues in a part time capacity as Church Verger, which involves arranging the Church for Sunday Services, ensuring all that the Clergy require is prepared, managing Wedding and Funeral Services, and being responsible for sanctuary supplies.

Liam has a love for the Anglican Church and it's traditions and has felt a call to ordination for many years. He was born in Britain but has lived and worked in Australia and New Zealand for nearly 17 years; much of this time was working in the financial and social service sectors. He is a firm supporter of the inspiration that Her Majesty the Queen provides in showing a commitment to living out the Christian faith.

Liam is dedicated to his seven year old daughter and he is passionate for social justice, and believes that the Church has a major role in helping people to live fulfilling lives through it's worship, spiritual teaching and pastoral ministry.
 

Director of Music and Organist - Brian Millar

Brian has been involved with music from an early age. He was taught piano by his mother, and joined his first church choir as a teenager. He then sang with the Te Atatu (now Waitakere) Men's Choir, filling the role of acting conductor for several months, before joining Auckland Choral, Auckland's only symphonic choir. During his 30 years with Auckland Choral, Brian served as a committee member for 11 years and co-deputy conductor for five. He was a co-founder of the West Auckland Combined Churches Choir.

Brian is a skilled composer, having written several psalm settings, a number of short sacred pieces and two major choral works. He has also arranged music for choir and congregation.

Brian became Director of Music at Saint Mark's in May 2011.
